Sustainability And Fashion
"If I had to make one prediction for 2020 and the years to follow, it would be that we’ll see more closed-loop companies like Thousand Fell and the Big Favorite (and more designers linking up with Evrnu). A more sustainable fashion industry depends on using what exists, eliminating the problem of clothing in landfills, and reframing the way we value our garments. It seems entirely feasible to me that one day, all of my “high frequency” items—for me, that’s T-shirts, cashmere sweaters, camisoles, flat sandals, leather boots, and jeans—will exist on a closed loop. When they’re worn out, I’ll send them to be recycled or upcycled, with nothing wasted in the process. Everything else in my closet would be an item I really love, something I’ve purchased with the intention of keeping for a long time, be it a classic blazer or vivid floral skirt. Longevity means different things to different people, and even if I fall out of love with something, it will be high-quality enough to resell on the RealReal or Vestiaire Collective. Again, nothing wasted"

Mixing Modern And Vintage
Mixing modern clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories with vintage is a fun way to be stylish while wearing items that are one of kind that can make a statement. I feel that most modern clothing has some inspiration of vintage styles ranging from 1920's-2010's.
Pair a modern pant and top with a vintage jacket Vintage Dress with a modern moto jacket
Vintage shoes with modern jeans
Modern jeans with a vintage t-shirt etc. etc.....
Not only is mixing modern and vintage a unique and special look it brings in the element of shopping eco friendly and used. Moving toward sustainability in purchasing modern brands isn't easy and can be expensive but mixed with affordable used/vintage pieces makes it easier on the wallet.
In store and online we offer a nice variety of our curated collection of new merchandise and vintage. Vintage is for EVERYBODY.
cold and rainy how do you dress cute? vintage and contemporary fashion
It is almost February and throughout most of the states and parts of the world it is rainy, overcast, snowy and cold. The winter weather sometimes brings on the blah feelings in getting dressed. Since moving to Bellingham, Washington I've changed the way I dress and I am much more casual. In part to the weather and also due to the smaller town and how much I go out. Some ways I've tried to step up creativity in the way I dress.... Accessories and Outerwear!!! I have stepped up my jewelry, hair accessories, head bands, vintage scarves and even colorful fun socks. Not to mention a vibrant pop of color lipstick helps give me that EXTRA. If you are in a cold climate hats and jackets are a must. why not make those items the central part of your outfit, since thats what people are seeing the most. Bright colors, vibrant prints and patterns can do the trick. I've been wearing a neon pink knit hat with a matching pink lipstick that makes me feel really good and gives me a boost. Hope you are staying warm and feeling good. check out some of our fun offerings in our accessories and outerwear sections.
